It is a public professional art museum focused on the collection, research, and exhibition of oil painting art. The building was designed by Tadao Ando, combining modernity with Eastern aesthetics.

The China Overseas Chinese History Museum is located at the eastern entrance of Beixinqiao San Tiao in Dongcheng District, Beijing. It is the first national-level museum in China to comprehensively showcase the history of Chinese overseas migration and the culture of overseas Chinese.
