The Fuguodun settlement is located at the easternmost tip of Kinmen Island. After passing through a traditional historic village, visitors can reach the shore and see some remaining military fortifications. The coastline here is a rocky shore, where uplifted granite forms a steep slope. Its elevated position made it especially suitable for watch posts. To defend against enemy landings, the rock slope is lined with agave plants whose leaves have serrated edges, along with broken glass bottles fixed into the rocks with concrete, creating a sharp, blade-like slope.
