Overview

Daikoku-ji is a Shingon Tō-ji school temple in Takajōchō, Fushimi Ward, Kyoto City, and it is commonly known as “Satsuma Temple.” It is said to have been founded by Kūkai (Kōbō Daishi), and it is visited for blessings related to success in life and good fortune in money, while also preserving historical sites linked to the late Edo period.

Getting There

It is about a 10-minute walk from Tambabashi Station on the Keihan Main Line and the Kintetsu Kyoto Line.

The well water in the temple grounds, called Kinyū Shimizu, is cherished as a spiritually efficacious spring.
