Kinmen County Forestry Bureau

Located in Jincheng Township, Kinmen, the Forestry Bureau is a lush green attraction in Kinmen. According to local tradition, early Kinmen was once covered with abundant vegetation, but when Koxinga captured Kinmen in the Ming dynasty, many trees were cut down to support construction, leaving the island barren. In 1951, the government began promoting greening, landscape improvement, and reforestation on Kinmen. After repeated setbacks and refinements, the island gradually overcame these difficulties, laid the foundation for its greenery, and improved the living environment for both residents and military personnel.

Fuguodun Observation Deck

The Fuguodun settlement is located at the easternmost tip of Kinmen Island. After passing through a traditional historic village, visitors can reach the shore and see some remaining military fortifications. The coastline here is a rocky shore, where uplifted granite forms a steep slope. Its elevated position made it especially suitable for watch posts. To defend against enemy landings, the rock slope is lined with agave plants whose leaves have serrated edges, along with broken glass bottles fixed into the rocks with concrete, creating a sharp, blade-like slope.
