Huoyanshan Ecological Education Center is a scenic building with three floors above ground and two basement levels. Its exterior and interior design were both inspired by Huoyanshan’s distinctive natural features. Located in Sanyi Township, Miaoli County, it opened on April 16, 2005. It is one of the few places in Taiwan dedicated to exhibition, interpretation, and environmental education for a natural landscape. Its mission is to make Huoyanshan Ecological Education Center an important domestic site for landscape and environmental education. Near the Huoyanshan Nature Reserve in Sanyi, Miaoli, it became an Environmental Education Certified Site on June 17, 2020, and received the National Academy for Educational Research’s “Excellent Environmental Education Facility Site Evaluation” recognition in 2023, making it an important gateway for conservation outreach in Miaoli.
