Forget Not in Ju

Along Yuzhang Road, near the Haiyin Temple on Mount Taiwu, you can reach the stone inscription "Forget Not in Ju" personally inscribed by President Chiang Kai-shek. These four characters were used to inspire the military and civilians in wartime, encouraging them to emulate the spirit of Tian Dan from the Warring States period, who overcame a larger force with a smaller one, striving to create new opportunities. The towering stone carving stands several dozen meters high and is one of the most famous landmarks in Kinmen, now a popular spot for tourists to take photos.

Taihu Recreation Area

Taihu Recreation Area includes Taihu Lake, the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Forest, the Banyan Garden, the Yu Dawei Memorial Hall, and the 823 War History Museum, covering an area of approximately 45 hectares.

Lan Lake

Lan Lake is located on the right side of Xiaojing Village and is transformed from the second largest water conservancy project in Kinmen, the Lanlin Reservoir. Originally built to provide irrigation and drinking water for the Qionglin and Zhonglan areas, it was completed in 1968 and has a water extraction area of 125 hectares.

Liou Roe Coastal Park

Liou Roe Bay is located on the southeastern coast of Kinmen. In the past, it became a primary target for artillery fire from the People's Liberation Army due to its crucial role in supplying materials during various battles. The daring scenes of the Kuomintang troops landing amidst gunfire have become a poignant and memorable part of Liou Roe Bay's history. Today, Liou Roe has been developed into Liou Roe Coastal Park, featuring clean sandy beaches and bright fishing village scenery, equipped with visitor centers, green spaces, pavilions, and washing facilities, making it suitable for families to enjoy water activities. The tranquil beauty of Liou Roe Bay at sunset is particularly captivating. The coastal park is connected to Mazu Park at the southern end, where a statue of Mazu on a high platform has become a new landmark.

Yangming Lake

Starting from the '823 Victory Memorial' at the Cuckoo Mountain Roundabout and proceeding along Huanghai Road, the Taiwan Sweetgum trees bloom beautifully in autumn along the way; on the right side of the road, you can see the red granite of Mount Taiwu in the background. In front of the beautiful rocks of Mount Taiwu lies an artificial lake called 'Yangming Lake'. Surrounded by lush trees, the lake's surface ripples with green waves, complemented by the red Mount Taiwu behind, showcasing the stunning scenery of 'lake and mountain'.

Meiyuan

Located next to the 'Never Forget in Jhu' stone inscription on Mount Taiwu in Kinmen, Meiyuan is an important attraction for climbing Mount Taiwu. The garden environment is serene, harmonizing with the mountain and forest scenery, showcasing different appearances in each season, making it a popular spot for tourists to relax and take photos.

Wanshi Point

Taiwu Pond is located 700 meters from Haiyin Temple and serves as an artificial reservoir surrounded by steep cliffs and forests, offering beautiful scenery. Not far from the pond, you can see the Wanshi Point and other stone inscriptions, where the eastern view is very open, making it an excellent spot for watching the sunrise, hence the name 'Taiwu Sunrise'.

Zhongzheng Memorial Forest

Located on the northern shore of Taihu Lake, Zhongzheng Memorial Forest is a tranquil green space that blends the aesthetics of Jiangnan gardens with the natural landscape of the mountains and forests. The entrance to the park is designed in the style of traditional Zhejiang residences, featuring pavilions and elegant window screens on the stone walls, allowing the serene ambiance of the garden to subtly flow out even before entering.

Taiwu Mountain Scenic Area

Taiwu Mountain is located in the center of Kinmen Island. Although its elevation is only 253 meters, it is the highest mountain in Kinmen. Taiwu Mountain is an important memorial site of the 823 Artillery Battle. In addition to hiking and enjoying the view, the mountain is rich in cultural landscapes, such as the 'Do Not Forget in Ju' monument and Haiyin Temple, which are distinctive attractions of Kinmen.

Eco Park Low Carbon Education Center

The Eco Park Low Carbon Education Center is the first exhibition hall in Kinmen that combines environmental education and low carbon issues, presented in an interactive experience format. The exhibition hall is located next to the bus parking lot at Shangyi Airport, welcoming children and adults to hold hands and explore low carbon education together, experiencing Kinmen from different perspectives.

Zhongzheng Park

To commemorate the anniversary of President Chiang Chung-cheng's passing, the military and civilians of Kinmen jointly built Zhongzheng Park in 1976 to express their remembrance of his contributions to Kinmen. This park not only carries historical sentiment but has also become an important green space for locals to relax and stroll.

Nanshihu Park

Nanshihu Park, known as the 'Mini Zhangjiajie', is located on the southeastern coast of Liao Luo Village in Kinmen. It was once a granite quarry, and the granite produced here features diverse and beautiful patterns, with a hardness superior to marble. Many famous buildings, such as the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall and Taoyuan International Airport, use stone sourced from this area.
